About Louise
I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, and over time I have learned a great deal about people, resilience, loss, and what helps people heal.
I believe therapy works best when people feel emotionally safe enough to be honest, curious, and fully themselves. My approach is shaped by psychodynamic therapy and EMDR, but even more importantly by the belief that meaningful change often happens through feeling understood, supported, and less alone with what we carry.
Many clients describe me as warm, compassionate, and easy to talk to. I value authenticity and do not believe therapy needs to feel harsh or intimidating in order to be meaningful. At the same time, I believe growth often asks us to face ourselves honestly and with courage, especially when life has required us to carry difficult things quietly and largely on our own.
Life can be difficult in ways that are both visible and invisible, and over the years I have come to appreciate how much strength it can take simply to keep showing up. The older I get, the more I appreciate how much I continue to grow and learn throughout life.
Outside of the therapy room, I value prayer, community, laughter, and the everyday moments that help people feel connected and grounded. Swimming has long been one of the ways I clear my mind and reset.
And yes, I believe life is better with a good dog nearby.
